This site is a low down on what's going on in my life, what I'm working on, what I'm thinking about, and how I'm feeling about life in general.

I have now come to understand that in order to develop for the iPhone, I need to start developing for Mac OS X.
There isn’t enough literature out there to enable someone who has never been involved with Cocoa development or objective-c to jump in easily. The first iPhone development books are due out about November time, so in the meantime I’m going to start developing for desktop machines, then moving on to the iPhone.
The bulk of my problems at the moment stems purely from a lack of understanding of the relationship between Interface builder and my code. I know any semi-experienced Cocoa developer will now be wetting him / herself with comments like “It’s just drag and drop”. I know it’s drag and drop but I don’t understand why I drop on certain objects or how those functions will be handled.
The penny is very close to dropping but I want to do things properly so as soon as my copy of Xcode 3 Unleashed arrives today I can get started.
I’ve been very quiet on my updates over the past couple of months, this is due to the sale of the house being quite stressful. Everything is up in the air, and mentally it’s been quite challenging. There’s this sense that the house is not yours, you don’t want to be there, so indeed we’ve been spending a great deal of time away from the house at the in-laws. We can’t move out or move on until the person buying our house has signed the contract so until then we have to exist in this state of purgatory.
Add to this looking after a four month old baby in my spare time and trying to learn a whole new way of programming (whilst still learning c# .net for work).
