Killzone 2: First Impressions

Posted on Monday, 02 March 2009 12:02

Well, the first few hours of Killzone 2 are done and it's definitely living up to the hype.

This is a game that assaults your senses at the highest level both visually and audibly. The graphics are well documented as phenominal but the DTS audio track is astounding, deffinitely one of the best of any game I've ever played.

It's not without it's flaws, when on mounted MG's, there is no indication you are being hit or even close to death until it sounds liek you're underwater, but by then it's invariably too late. Tanks are powerful beasts, as long as you don't want to drive them anywhere, I found the control system to be awful! This was really disapointing as the tank looks a lot of fun, but by god it's annoying.

Aside from that the gameplay is intense and immersive, the scripted events, mission and story are all also very highly developed.
