Ospreys, the cheating, sexy using slag of the rugby world

Posted on Monday, 30 March 2009 01:00

I've been miserable, to say the least, after the weekends defeat to Gloucester. Actually, whitewash is a term I've seen ad it's totally relevant and correct. We were nil'd by a poor Gloucester side we should have annihilated.

I've thought about a lot of things after the game. Do I want to renew my season ticket? What went wrong? Am I a true fan?

I've been going to all the home ospreys games for the last 3 seasons and a few away trips. But this years performances have been poor. Even when the results are good the way they were achieved was awful. This is professional rugby being played at an abysmal standard by hard working players who are not given the right guidance and support by the coaching team.

I pay a lot of money to watch this tripe, and recently get so little back, I feel used. The love used to flow back and forth, but recently it feels unrequited. They take my money and show so little affection. Users.

I will continue to support the Ospreys and will probably get a season ticket next year, but if I don't, am I any less of a fan? Why should I spend so much money on what, at the end of the day, is entertainment when I could spend that money on other forms of entertainment that are much more rewarding.

I don't know what future the Ospreys and I have, but I think we'll be going to counselling soon.
