Abyssal nature and tendencies
Posted on Monday, 06 April 2009 22:51"I gaze helplessly at a figure shrouded in shadow, moving relentlessly towards an abyss. The figure looks around, apparently seeking to steady his fall. There are handholds and other items he could grasp to stay his progress but he does not take them instead, he looks on towards the abyss, constantly seeking the perfect handholds, the easy way away from peril and ultimately doom.
Time, the one true constant, marches on, as does the figures descent. Too late he starts to reach out, compelled by fear of an impending doom. But it's too late. Suddenly the figure reaches the edge of the abyss. As he gazes down, into pure oblivion, he is instantly aware of every opportunity he had so save himself. Every chance that passed that would allow him to manage the situation and alter his path but he did not take it and with a gasp I realise, that figure is me.
Armed with this realization ahead of time, I'm faced with a choice, change things or let fate take it's course. To remain an observer knowing what is to come is maddness. one must take chare, regain control of the runaway train, strategize, create beautiful and perfect patterns, and escape that which cannot be."
