I've just found out that John Hughes died yesterday of a heart attack. His work in the 80's is hugely popular, some may even say seminal. It influenced many people in many different ways, but it was this blog post by Alison Byrne Fields that really shows of the mans private side.

She talks about how the two of them became pen-pals and forged a strong relationship with the Director / Producer / Writer.

I'll mourn his loss, his fantastic work will live on for generations.
