SharePoint Document Library Mockup
Posted on Monday, 26 October 2009 15:12I've created several mock ups of a design I'm working on that lists the contents of a SharePoint document library. The webpart is public facing and doesn't have to serve any functional purpose beyond linking to the document.
Take a look at the designs and let me know what you think.
Below are 3 proposals for a representation of a document libraries co ntent in SharePoint. I'd appreciate some feed back, although as I haven't implemented the comments system yet, catch me at twitter.com/matt_knott.
Style 1
In this version, the sub folders are found below the documents. Not exactly traditional but I'm not sure most people know what they're looking for and if they don't want to use the search facility, they'll come to browse. Would they want to scroll through several sub folders before hitting the documents?

Style 2
The second version is the same as the first but sees the sub folders in the more traditional position of above the files.

Style 3
The third version uses a tab system to alternate between files and folders.

Thoughts?
As I said, I'd like to know what you guys think, drop me a message via twitter, thoughts will be much appreciated.
